The Gathering
The Vine community gathers once a week for the purpose of worshiping God as a community. This worship is experienced through the singing of songs, preaching and teaching of the Bible, and participation in the Lord’s Supper. We are presently meeting together on Sundays at 10:00 am at Lapham Elementary School. Below is the map and address to our gathering location.

FAQ
The following are some frequently asked questions regarding the Sunday gathering at The Vine.
What will the Sunday gathering be like if I visit?
As you enter the school you will be greeted by volunteers who will welcome and direct you to the auditorium. Outside the auditorium you will have the option of filling out a name tag and then heading in to take a seat in the auditorium. Around 10:00 am the service will open with group singing. This is a time where you can stand and join others in singing songs in celebration and worship. The lyrics for these songs are projected on a large screen, giving you the opportunity to fully participate without holding a song book or lyric sheet. After a time of singing, you will be asked to greet those around you while the younger children are dismissed for a time of activities and teaching in a separate portion of the school. You will then be seated for a time of teaching from the Bible. The teaching time can last anywhere from 30-40 minutes and is followed by communion, a few songs, and some closing announcements.
How long is a Sunday gathering?
It begins at 10:00 am and is finished by no later than 11:30 am.
What is your view of communion?
Communion was a practice instituted by Jesus for the church. With communion Christians are tangibly remembering the cross of Christ. The bread represents the body of Christ that was broken and the juice, His blood that was shed for you and me upon the cross. Communion is the only aspect of the service where people who are not Christ followers are asked to abstain from participating. This means that when others go to the front to take of the bread and cup, that those not participating simply remain seated. For those who process to the front, our primary method of communion is intinction. This involves the participant breaking off a piece of bread from the loaf and dipping it into the juice and then taking.
Do I need to consider myself a Christian to attend?
No. All people at every stage of their spiritual journey are invited and encouraged to attend.
Is there a nursery or other programs for kids?
As a young church, we are continually developing and enhancing our ministry to children. We are presently offering a weekly activity and teaching time for children 2-5 years old following the music time in the main service. In July we will be adding weekly nursery for those 0-2 and will be having a regular (perhaps every other week) time for older children following the music time in the main gathering.
Am I required to contribute money if I desire to attend?
No. We do encourage giving as an act of worship for those who are regular attenders and members of the church, but visitors and those who are not Christians are not expected to give in any way. The only means for giving on Sundays is an offering box located in the back of the auditorium. For more information on giving go to this link.
Are you a charismatic? traditional? contemporary church?
Depending on your perspective we could probably answer no or yes to each of these categories. Our desire at The Vine is to be faithful to the scriptures in our practices while also relating to the context of the culture in which we live. Two of the pastors at The Vine have over 25 years experience in leading music and arts ministries within churches. This means we care deeply about leading music with excellence, however, we are also not concerned about good music for the sake of good music. Above all, our desire at The Vine is to create an environment conducive to community participation where the attention and focus of our worship is upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
